DESCRIPTION: EPW - A. Lange, Dresden, marked for retailer John Bennett, 65 & 64 Cheapside, London, "Maker to the Royal Observatory," 49mm, 18K gold (tested) original HC, signed gold signed cuvette, white enamel SS dial, SW-button-set, fully capped lever escapement, diamond endstone, 20-21J, gilt mvt, s#5582 with matching serial number within case and to certificate on underside of box. Gross weight of assembled watch 65.6 dwt (102.0 g). Comes with original red leather box with gold foil signing to exterior and certificate to underside.
CONDITION: Mvt: Running, excellent cosmetic mvt condition overall, small areas of pitting to winding wheels from previously removed oxide, few scattered short fine scratches to plates; dial has edge chip at 4:30, short hl at 6; excellent hands; case shows ample wear, scattered shallow dings and dents on front and rear both visible primarily to inner surface of lids, slight dent to band at 12, few sharp dings to lower left of pendant, front lift spring needing a nudge of assistance to progress through start of opening range; tight bow thinned at bit at top, replacement half-crown without jacket (outer layer) with brass core showing medium wear; good glass crystal; box in excellent condition, rub through finish to top above seal, scattered finish tears at edges, bottom label legible, lining intact and with excellent gold foil seal marking.
